Trade the Explosive Moves with Fulcrums
A Fulcrum is a level in the chart from which a strong move is likely to occur. These levels are essentially self-fulfilling prophecies. As a price moves decisively through a level that everyone can see, others jump in. Program trading adds more fuel to the fire, as computers dump even more trades into the moving market.
Below is a chart of the Dow with several Fulcrums market. The profit potential of these moves is breathtaking – a quiet market can suddenly take off and gain 100 points in a matter of minutes.
Here are three recent Fulcrums on the Dow Jones Industrials. Each Fulcrum “fires” as the Index moves through the action lines (entries are circled in the Chart). The three moves add up to about 1,400 Dow points. If the Dow E-Mini contract (YM) were traded, this would result in a gain of $7,000 per contract, or more than 300% return on margin.
