The guys at Nirv update and fix OT all the time, which is great. The same thing can probably be said for interactive brokers as they are always releasing updated versions of TWS. My question is this....
When IB releases a TWS update, does the nirvana staff examine it and deem if it is ok for OT users to upgrade? I ask this b/c IB just released a new build of TWS and some of the functionality in it seems to be enhanced, e.g. able to stream Esignal data w/in TWS.

Yes we do. Thank you for informing me of the update to TWS. I will let the development team know so we can start the testing cycles.

The new version is NOT compatible. DO NOT INSTALL IT. You will not be able to exit trades based on virtual exits.

Thanks Matthew for the follow up. I am in no rush to update. I only ask b/c I guess I'm one of those guys who loves the have the newest version of things. Do you think there is a timetable as to when it would doable to upgrade?

I cant give you a time line and can only say we are actively looking into the issue. Our brokerage developer is out this week so we prob wont be able to start development cycles on it until Monday. This was also only the first issue found. Depending on how many changes went in to the update and how many more issues we find will have a dramatic effect on how much time it will take to update OT.

Thanks Matthew for the location of the proper TWS. The linked list list has nothing on it about OT2009. Does the latest 2008 apply?

The latest OT08 does apply. I will let our web admin know so they can add the OT09 section.

There is still a known issue within their API with future contracts that we are waiting for IB to resolve before we can update to the newer version.

Thanks Matthew. I hope it is fixed soon. I know in the new TWS there is an option to set orders through Globex re Stop order execution after RTH, which is not currently available in the version used w/ OT.
Overall, stop orders are not supported by GLOBEX. Interactive Brokers provides customers with simulated stop orders. Simulated stop orders will only trigger during regular trading hours unless configured by the customer. Regular trading hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New York time.
Speaking to support at IB, in order to be able to place stop orders outside of regular trading hours, you go to the TWS, select Configure >> Order >> Stop Trigger Method. Under "GLOBEX Orders Time Restriction" you may choose to allow stop orders to trigger outside of regular trading hours.
