I am using Autotrade to track a strategy. Autotrade does everything it should including placing MOO trades in the morning. Those trades never fill and remain as open orders day after day.
I learned that a user created portfolio will not do that due to a bug but the default portfolio will. In my case the default portfolio is the same. Open MOO orders day after day.
Turning off Autotrade and manually updating will not fill those orders either.
Is the only alternative to manually place trades or is there another solution?

I'm not seeing an issue with this. Are you sure you have the portfolio account selected under View/Portfolios that you're intending? You might check if you have confirmations enabled for that account in the same area - click Edit Account & "Require Order Confirmation" should be disabled. If it's not disabled the behavior described makes sense.
