Q: How can I plot an option chart using OptionTrader?

A:

You may add an option contract into the Focus List using the Quick Chart to allow charting of the contract. History is limited and is only provided in daily charts (EOD & RT).

As an example of a call contract for Apple at a strike price of 250 that expires May 22, 2010, you can enter in the Quick Chart any of the following formats:

AAPL/5C250
AAPL/510C250
AAPL/052210C250

- If you do not specify the year, OmniTrader assumes the current year.
- If you do not specify the day, OmniTrader assumes the expiration is the third Friday of the month and uses the next day's date.

Enhancement added in OT2010 Pre-Release 3W:

- Added the ability to add an option to the Focus List within the option chain form. Right-click the Focus List & view option chains, then right-click any option to select it.
