Hi, Barry.
I've updated my IB installations to the new release available from Nirvana Systems (build 956.2c). Today, TWS updated itself to build 956.2e. Will that still be compatible with OT, VT, etc.? OR, can/should I fall back to 952.2c and change some configuration setting to disable automatic updates?

I'm currently on "Chat hold" with IB. If I find an answer, I'll update here.

OT/VT will be compatible with all IB versions after 956.2C, so 956.2E is fine. Trade Processor will be the same once it's released.

So, we don't need to worry about any automatic updates forever?? It's OK for TWS and Gateway to do their automatic update thing, and it will always be compatible with OT, VT, TP, ... Wow! You must have a commitment from IB that the API will never change. That's great, and the way it should be done.

No commitment from IB. We just feel that after so many years it's extremely rare that IB breaks the API with any changes they make, & when they have broken it, they typically force an update anyway & stop supporting older versions.

And as often as they make updates, we cannot update all our software every time they update - they've already had 2 updates since we started supporting 956.2C last week.
