Hi Jim:

I noticed your mention of a STOPS Guide below, though been 2 years now, is this still available ? If so, how can we have access. Thanks.

I am trying to finish up a BIG project today that I've been working on with Matt's help, to provide a THOROUGH "dictionary" / explanation for all kinds of things related to STOPS.

Please watch for the post, hopefully later today.

The extensive stops writeup was at one time reasonably complete ... but some of the rules have changed in the past year or so, and I have not had time to dig back into that and update it ... it's not just a matter of writing things out ... it also requires proof-testing which takes a long time.

MattG had been my primary "inside source" for details and he's been gone a long while now ... the new stuff was done after that. I did get some limited but detailed explanations from Hans about those changes.

Anyways, I will eventually put it all together again, and provide some formalized training on it. But it's not "safe" to publish as-is since things have changed ... I don't want to disseminate anything that has hidden flaws.

ALSO, I've been waiting on THIS THREAD'S ISSUE to be resolved. My guess is that when it finally is, there will be even more tweaks needed to my writeup.

FINALLY, there are now NTB's in the mix which are not yet afaik fully "settled" re how things work with them and stops ... though it's getting firmed up quickly from what I hear.

With regard to scaling-in to a trade, it strikes me that a simple workaround for OT would be to treat each scale-in level as a separate trade. In working with Ninja Trader, I have discovered that -- although it accommodates scaling-in and scaling-out of trades (up to 10 levels) -- its statistical output treats each scale-in level as a separate trade in any case.

I have not yet tried to build a strategy that entails both scaling-in and scaling-out. I'm sure that is much more complicated. Still, various algorithms should allow us to break a complex trade down into units that OT can presently accommodate.

Most brokers will not allow multiple active trades on the same symbol. But they do allow share-sizes to be changed. That's how OT works, too.

Jim, +1 on the STOPS "dictionary".

Seems like that would be a worthy augmentation of documentation for the upcoming "University", too!
