Reober:

Last evening I went through looking at possible Order and Trade Plan blocks that might be used in the strategy I created.

Although I must have investigated over 30 combinations I was not able to find a good match with either an Order or a Trade Plan block that would give a reasonable Proit Per Trade and Hit Rate for both long and short trades.

Usually I like to see at least some joy before going to Strategy Wizard to see if I can improve a bit on thigs.

So, at least for now for me, I don't see using the strategy for anything more than identifying possible trading candidates.

OScan is based solely on daily bars.

You can however assign the filter as an EZsetup condition, and specify weekly bars.
Then sort on the setup list.

Robert, I got a message regarding this thread that you're wanting a different Aroon indicator or system then what Tom and Jim have provided. Our resources are rather limited right now, but perhaps you can post exactly what it is you're looking for first, and we can go from there. I looked over the earlier posts in this thread and it seems you removed some of your responses.

Here is the indicator:

In order to make a system out of it, you need to define rules that will trigger a signal.
For example, if green crosses up over red while blue is above 20% might be a long entry, etc.

Try out the indicator and define what signal logic you want if you'd like help writing a system.

Here is the system, hopefully with sufficient flexibility to meet your needs:

To make a scan out of the indicator, simply "call" it in a formula which defines the desired level of the Aroon Oscillator.

Presume that the OLang oscillator is named Aroon:
Aroon(20) > 50
… might be a scan for long candidates
Aroon(20) < 50
… might be a scan for short candidates

I just fixed the two postings for some minor syntax errors - working from iPhone while at hospital with friend is tricky.

For general info as to how to use OT, please read the OT Pro Help manual. It doesn't tell you how to program but it does tell you the mechanics surrounding the process.

Robert, if you'd like step by step instructions on getting (downloading, copy/paste, compiling, etc) Jim's indicator or system in OmniTrader, let me know.

Jim & Tom, thank you very much for helping him.
