Q: How can I get Gmail & Yahoo email to work with OmniTrader, Trade Processor, & OmniPilot?

A: (GMAIL)

If you encounter difficulty getting emails sent to your Gmail account from Nirvana software, here are the steps to make it work.

1. Open your internet browser & log into your Gmail account here.

2. Click the "Google Apps" squares in the top right of your browser next to your name.

3. Click on the "My Account" option -> Sign-in & Security -> then scroll towards the bottom of the next page & enable the option for "Allow less secure apps".

OmniTrader (AutoTrade)

In OmniTrader, click Tools -> Options. Insert the following information:

Email Address: Your Gmail address
Password: Your Gmail password
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Place a check mark in Enable SSL

It should look like this:

Click the Test button & verify that it succeeds. You should receive this message. Click OK when you are done.

Trade Processor

In the Trade Processor, click Edit -> Preferences. Insert the following information:

Email Address: Your Gmail address
Password: Your Gmail password
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Place a check mark in Enable SSL

It should look like this:

Click the -> button & verify that it succeeds. Enable Alerts and/or Email Reports, then click "Save" when you are done.

The Trade Processor will send emails to your Gmail account from the machine it is running on, such as your home computer or an Amazon cloud instance, etc.

OmniPilot

On your local machine you will need to overwrite the existing OmniPilot scripts with these. Just download the GmailOmniPilotScripts.zip file to your computer, & extract the files into your ...\Nirvana\OT201*\VBA\OmniPilot folder.

Make sure to overwrite the existing files in this folder when prompted.

Launch OmniPilot -> highlight the "modGmail.txt" script on the left side of OmniPilot, & type in your Gmail ID and PW into those two spots shown in the screenshot.

Now, when you run OmniPilot it will send emails to your Gmail account from your local machine & not from our server. The port/SSL/SMTP information is already configured & the email alert functionality will work.

2. Rest your cursor on your username in the top right corner of the site & select “Account Info”.

3. Click on the “Account Security” option on the left, & enable the feature titled “Allow Apps That Use Less Secure Sign In”.
