Q: How can I use my Metastock or CSI data in OmniTrader?

A:

1. Update/download your data using your Metastock or CSI software first. With some vendors, the data may need to be converted to Metastock format first.
2. Restart OmniTrader.
3. Click Edit/Data Settings & select None for the datafeed. Leave the username & password blank.

*You may want to create a new Focus List at this time by clicking File/New.

4. Click on the Pencil icon at the top of the Focus List.
5. Select User Data from the Data Source drop-down list.
6. If your data is not showing, on the right side under Drive & Directories, you need to find it. CSI is usually located in C:/UA/Files, then each folder under the Files folder will be folders from CSI that you created. But once you find the folder that contains the data & open it, the symbols will appear in the center of the screen.
7. Once you're data is in the center of the screen, click on a symbol to highlight it.
8. Then click the Add button on the top left & it should add it to your Focus List on the left-hand side.
9. Once complete, click Ok on the bottom right to save your changes.
10. Now back on the main screen, double-click the symbol to get a chart.

Please note that if you update your user data with OmniTrader opened you will not see the new data on the chart until OmniTrader is closed and restarted.
