I'm glad we are getting some "global stops" via Account settings ... it might be nice to have those stops be at the Portfolio level as well, since Portfolios are more focused around (potentially) either certain "styles" of trading or certain focus lists.
That is, please implement the simple but flexible and powerful suggestion that I made in the first post of the Max Loss Stops thread, here:
http://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/omnivestforum/thread-view.asp?threadid=4004
So, we would end up with that three-input EVG (Equity &/or Volatility-Gap) stop at the account level, presumably with very wide settings, and then also be able to use a different instance of the 3-input EVG in each separate Portfolio within that account ... these would typically be somewhat tighter (for some Portfolios) than at the Account level, depending on the nature of the Portfolio.
And/or, at the Account level, one might implement a FIXED loss version of EVG, and the Portfolio level might (optionally) implement a TRAILING stop version of EVG, with the same or different gap-control settings as at the account level.
Of course it wouldn't hurt to take the EVG down to the bottom level as well (for each Strategy), but imho that probably would be overkill. I do care VERY much about the stops for Strategies, which need to be much "smarter" than the Max-Loss EVG stop ... I'll post on that elsewhere.
For NOW, please consider implementing the EVG both at the Account level and also at the Portfolio level.
ALSO ... ADDENDUM to the EVG description ... please add a FOURTH input to it that is a checkbox, so that it can be EITHER a FIXED level (horizontal line on the chart), or a TRAILING STOP ... ideally each of these would be set up in the final CloudVest world as StopMarket order types.
This aspect of Risk control is REALLY important ... especially to those of us who make decisions on Reward vs Risk (aka Expectancy as an R-multiple) basis.
