My data supplier for futures is IQFeed. I am unable to get a data feed for GCQ6. However using another charting programme also connected to the same IQFeed I do get data and am able to chart GC.

First we need to determine which symbol it is you want. Here are the different Gold continuous contracts from IQ Feed. Using your other charting program (or IQ Feed support), can you determine which one you want? @QO = E-MINI GOLD (COMEX exchange) GCT = GOLD (TAS) (COMEX exchange) QGC = GOLD (COMEX exchange) @ZG = GOLD 100 OZ (ICE exchange) @YG = MINI GOLD (ICE exchange)

Thanks, The symbol you want is QGC at IQ Feed from the COMEX exchange. In OT, you will want to add the GC symbol from the US Commodities tab, but I can see now that our internal translation for it isn't defined, so it wouldn't work. I've had the correct translation added for it (GC in OmniTrader should now be recognized as QGC when using IQ Feed, but continue to display GC in the Focus List). You just need to install this attached file to your ...\Nirvana\OT2016\Dlls folder & replace the existing one. Then open OT & try it. If it still doesn't collect data after that, please try removing the symbol from your list & re-adding it from the US Commodities tab. ![]()

Thanks, I do now have data. However, as per above I was looking for GCT = GOLD (TAS) AND NOT QGC AT LEAST I DO HAVE DATA NOW SO THAT IS GOOD. NOTE: GCT = GOLD (TAS) (COMEX exchange) QGC = GOLD (COMEX exchange)

Barry, I have edited my futures database so that the symbols load from IQFeed but what I am talking about is the brokerage. If I place a trade in OT when connected to my IB brokerage, IB doesn't recognize that symbol so the trade fails for symbol recognition. I assume that if the symbol was recognized by IB (or could be mapped in the brokerage engine somehow) then the entire trade plan with stops and profits would be placed (at least that is what I am shooting for.)

IB uses a different symbol format for some symbols than IQ Feed, so there would need to be another internal mapping done for IB. If you can tell me what IB's symbol is for it, I can get the file updated.

Hi Barry, As far as I can tell most of the DTNIQFeed symbols map OK to IB for all futures on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX. EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING: DTN => IB QHG => HG Copper QGC => GC Gold 100 troy oz QSI => SI Silver 5000 troy oz It appears the metals need a "Q" prefix. I may stumble across more but that is what I have found so far. I actually placed trades (sim) in OT to IB to make sure the whole process worked. Thanks

I just need the full size contracts, no mini on the metals. That would be SI, HG and GC I believe. Thanks

I've attached the new file with the correct translations added for HG & SI. HG in OmniTrader should now be recognized as QHG when using IQ Feed, but continue to display HG in the Focus List. SI in OmniTrader should now be recognized as QSI when using IQ Feed, but continue to display SI in the Focus List. You just need to install this attached file to your ...\Nirvana\OT2016\Dlls folder & replace the existing one. Then open OT & try it. If it still doesn't collect data after that, please try removing the symbol from your list & re-adding it from the US Commodities tab. As for the IB translations, they shouldn't be needed since the OT symbol (HG, GC, SI) & the IB symbol (HG, GC, SI) match. If you submit yours to IB & it isn't coming through then I would suggest this... Try a new RT Futures profile. Open the Pencil database. Select the Futures Contracts tab. Remove GC & QGC if it is listed in that tab. Then click the US Commodities tab, & add GC Next Contract & save. Then try to submit a trade for it to IB. ![]()

You have different Display Names in each forum, but you can make them the same pretty easily. Just click Settings at the top of each forum, then Edit profile & change your Display Name.

I broke it down to make it simple and started a new profile. Just working with HG if I add it from US Commodities it will not collect data. If I add it with the DTN prefix "QHG" it collects data but then the symbol is not recognized by IB and the trade fails. I believe the intent is to have the focus list show "HG" and the internal mapping for DTN data uses "QHG" and a trade from the focus list with HG then works for IB. I have cleaned out the Futures Contracts and deleted all HG and QHG, restarted the program but get the same. The vendors.otd has been replaced with the new one in OT2016\DLL.
