Both have strong and weak points but Nirvana is --way--ahead. I will be posting comparisons and observations how we can benefit here and I hope (beg) that Nirvana will continue to allow this thread. As Wynn related, the VV timing system is remarkably simple and effective. A similar market timing system can be set up easily in OT with publicly available data and I will share that in my next post. While VV is very much apples to oranges compared with OT and especially with OV it is all about a scheme to select profitable trades and timing is crucial. IMHO, VectorVest’s greatest attribute is its simplicity while Nirvana’s is its capability and configurability. More later. Ed Downs has done something remarkable here in that while Nirvana has introduced OV he has invited users to submit on competing products. A careful reading of Ed’s invitation post shows that he recognizes there is a lack of competing “profile of strategies” products so, as I understand, he is inviting input about products that generally compete with Nirvana. I think that shows that Ed and crew have confidence and commitment in all their products especially OV. [Edited by Jimmer on 10/14/2012 1:38 PM] |
