I've installed TP 1.0.38 on Windows Server 2008 R1 SP2. At TP startup, I get this error: I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Same result. This is the first install of TP on this Windows instance. What's the next step? Thanks, Steve [Edited by SteveL on 5/21/2013 10:45 AM] ![]()

I'm not familiar with Windows Server editions, but likely there are certain files that aren't being installed to the right location. The files in question normally write to the following locations: Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\NirvanaSystems\Trade Processor (The ProgramData folder is a hidden folder, so you must unhide) Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nirvana Systems\Trade Processor If Windows Server doesn't place that folder in either of those locations, then you might try a Windows search for Trade Processor to see where it was placed.

Hi Barry, I see on my Windows 8 installation what files are located at C:\ProgramData\Nirvana Systems\Trade Processor\Database. And in Windows Server 2008, those files are located at: C:\Users\Public\Nirvana Systems\Trade Processor\Database. I looked for a *.ini file to be edited with the path. But didn't find one to edit. So, I copied the Database folder (and its contents) to C:\ProgramData\Nirvana Systems\Trade Processor. That has fixed the problem. Do you think that is the best solution? Or is there a path variable that should be set? (By the way, I'm following Steve Mayo's great instructions and setting up an Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 micro instance.) Thanks, Steve

That solution should be fine. We'll likely need to fix the install for that operating system so that it puts the files in the correct location. Did the ProgramData folder already exist or did it need to be created?

Barry, The C:\ProgramData folder did already exist. And (I believe) the C:\ProgramData\Nirvana Systems\Trade Processor\Logs also existed. So, it was just the ...\Database folder which was setup in the wrong place. By the way, I've also installed it on an AWS Windows Server 2012 Base instance (for comparison with the Windows Server 2008 instance), and it installed correctly. Now that I'm getting comfortable with AWS, I have a question. Question: Will IB Gateway 944.3b run in an Amazon Web Services t2.micro instance with specs of memory of 1 GiB and “High Frequency Intel Xeon Processors operating at 2.5GHz with Turbo up to 3.3GHz?” Thanks.

Hi, Paul. I have had IB Gateway 944.3b running in an AWS t2.micro, and also Trade Processor Pre-Release 4A (Build Number: 1.4.15.0) for many months. Steve

I am getting a "Problem with Shortcut" message. It says, The item 'javaw.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. The shortcut for the Trade Processor Pre-Release 3E(Build Number: 1.3.14.0) works fine but not the shortcuts for Trader Workstation 4.0 or for IB Gateway. Is there a missing program that needs to be added? Thanks, Paul

I do believe IB Gateway and TWS require Java to be installed. See this link: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/?f=%2Fen%2Fsoftware%2FinstallationInstructions.php I suggest you contact IB if you have questions about installing IB software. Here's a snapshot of my Java install info: [Edited by SteveL on 3/11/2015 10:23 PM] ![]() |
