Have you been able to isolate this issue |
Not yet unfortunately, but yours isn't the only case.

Hi Barry
how do I check if auto-balancing is working? I have done 2 PB's and neither seem to working. After the PB has finished and I have selected then one I want, the only thing I change in the account is the end date for the account so it shows todays date

First, check that there are simulated or live trades. The account page will also show statistics instead of all zeroes & show how many strategies are being used in the account.
To check that the balancing occurs, you would need to view the Portfolio Balancer after the next interval to see if it changed the portfolios its using.
If you want I can take a look, just tell me which account to look at.

the Portfolio is Port bal. pretty sure its not working, the output page shows the last re-balancing was 08/18/2015.
is there a way to ensure it works? otherwise what is the point in using the balancer

Thanks Sean,
When viewing your portfolio Balancer Output tab, there are 2 rows. You have the Current Account Statistics row & the Last run in this account row. If you click the Last run in this account row, you'll see your equity curve with it showing the last balancing was done on 8-20-2016.

You still have no trades though with your trading start date at 8-21-16. It looks like there were just no new trades for today. Since you had nothing in your account yet, I reset the account to a trade date starting a year ago & it now shows historical & open positions.
So that confirms it's working. You might reset the account again yourself & set the start date & starting balance that you want. Click Tools -> Reset Account to access that.

hi Barry
can you have a look again for me, the "last run in this account" section is showing a last balancing date of 10/3/15, which is a year to late!

Sean,
It looks like you just need to rerun it. The last time you ran it, your Simulation dates were from 10/6/2012 → 10/6/2015.

Barry I thought I had done that by changing the simulation dates to today and going back 1 year?

Just changing the Simulation dates will not affect what shows in the Output tab, you have to change the Simulation dates & then re-analyze in your Dashboard.
