I have an Account with a single DP enabled. The Account has a simulation range of 10/1/2007 - 10/1/2014. The DP looks for the best 5 strategies from a universe of 20, using one EF.
I've been waiting over 24 hours for the Account to stop "Working". (But that's not the point of this post.) So I decide to deselect the Portfolio from the Account.
1) while Account is working, goto Portfolios
2) deselect the Portfolio
3) save
4) OV vectors back to the Accounts page
Oops - The account still shows 20 strategies selected
5) goto Portfolios
6) repeat step 2 - 5
There is no way out short of deleting the Account.
And specific to the Portfolios page -
Any time the Composite Statistics and Equity Graph are not displayed (completed), the Save function will not actually work. (It will appear to work, but the Account will not be updated.)
So if you like to use the Recalculate Composite button, this applies too.
DPs exacerbate the issue due to the fact they can take a long time to calculate.
(Reported to technical support weeks to months ago.)

Keith,
Try changing one of the "settings" (e.g. change the date to just 1 month) - it forces a recalculate with the new settings, then change back to your old settings.
Should stop all the 'working' issues.

Thanks, John.
So if I set the simulation range to 1 month, the account completes working and I get summary stats and an equity graph.
Ditto for 1 year.
But if I set the simulation start date to 10/1/2010, the account never stops working. (At least not within 24 hours...)
This account and the DP selected into it were initially developed with a simulation date range of 10/1/2007 to 10/1/2014. It worked back when PW was first born. Now it just hangs.
But I can use the 10/1/2007 - simulation range to perform a PW run without a problem. I start at the Accounts page, select the Account with the 7+ year simulation range, click the hyperlink for the DP selected into the account, verify the strategy pool (20), verify the EF (1), verify the PW analyze settings and date range, click Analyze and wait a few minutes. Kaboom. Stats, equity curve, portfolio rotations - it's all there. Save over the existing DP just for good measure.
Go back to Accounts. Sorry! Can't deal with that long of a simulation period.
All that aside, the UI issue remains. "Save" only works on the Portfolios page if Composite Statistics and Equity Graph are completed.

Yes, that is a known bug that we're waiting on dev to fix.
