A but confused on the values to use when setting up a new account that I want to actually trade.
This will be a manually traded account Can't use the TP here yet. (TP doesn't support Interactive Brokers Advisor Accounts)
So I'm pretty green re how to do this manually.

So let's say there is 62,521 in this existing account and it's flat, all in cash.

Where do I tell OV the actual starting balances ?
Should I still have a simulation period?
Do I need to update OV periodically on the OV generate vs real balances ?
I'm guessing there's a way to update OV with real fill prices manually..?
Should I still run TP in some sort of 'manual' mode to get new trades and enter fills ?

Is there a tutorial or other forum link discussing this how-to ?

Cheers
Wes

- Click the Edit Account button in OmniVest to access this value (Trading Current Balance).

- Simulation period doesn't matter.

- The TP has an option to update the account balance from your broker to OmniVest. It does this several times per day. If you are not using it or not using a TP, you will want to update the balance manually. Once a day should be as frequent as you really need, but you can do once per week, depending how close to your max buying power you want to get.

- There is not a way to update OV with fill prices.

- If you cannot get the TP to connect to your broker account, then you can't run it in manual mode. Have to be able to connect the TP to a actual broker account.

It maybe too late to say, I have used IB advisor both paper and real accounts with TP successfully since Feb 2016. So it works.

Wes
I am happy to say that I think I may have probably hopefully found a way to use the TP (for Canucks).
I ended up buying a laptop that is dedicated to IB and TP.
I never shut it down and have set the settings to make sure updates etc are not done automatically.
So far So good
