I’m having a problem using Portfolio Builder. I’m building a single symbol portfolio. In setting up for building, the slider will only let me set 25% of account as maximum for a buy. Using a single symbol I want to select 100% of my account to each buy signal. Does anyone have a idea how I can accomplish this, if it can be done.
Thanks
Pat

The builder simulation is limited to 25% per trade, but you can change the allocation once you save it to a portfolio.

I have tried to find where I can change it but had no luck. I changed it in a couple of places to 100% but it has not made any difference. It stays at 25%. I was thinking to just set it up to make just one trade not allowing a different system to make another buy and then just times 4 everything. Not what I really want to do. Any ideas

Hi Pat:

Any truly good software is designed to prevent users from inadvertently doing unwise things with it. That’s why there is a 25% limit. It’s simply unwise to put all the money into a single bet. Also - the entire concept of OmniVest is based upon the value of automated diversification, to reduce risk and increase consistent gains.

So, I’d suggest you rethink your approach, rather than trying to force the platform to doing something that is contrary to its foundational concepts.

You can if you wish use OT and Autopilot to place single trades of that nature, btw. That route is just as automated as OVest, and is flexible enough to permit widely divergent trading philosophies.

I agree. I was looking to set up a portfolio on one etf symbol and then set up 9 other portfolios each one on its own eft symbol, then combine all 10 into one investing 10% on each trade.
When looking for which etfs to use setting portfolio builder on 100% would have given me a cleaner result than using the 25% max.

Thanks
Pat

Why not use 10 symbol-specific Strategies in a single portfolio?
