It takes participation. It can be a trial thing. Just to see what people do. But they once had a "Trade Plans" thread if I recall and it wasn't much used.. So, perhaps a "Systems & Strategy" discussion thread maybe more suited to discuss anything & everything Trading AND not just Omnitrader!! As I think that's the point Jason is trying to make - to have a thread where we can just talk about Market activity, trading, our strategies and systems used. Granted, I don't know how open it would be to sharing. Jason, Also don't get your hopes up.. what you are asking for is very difficult to do. You want people to give feedback onto your strategies and systems and then have them help you make a tradeplan. this is nearly impossible to do by just looking at it. And you've been told this..So it is one of the most important elements of trading - if you do NOT get it, then you need to seriously reconsider your options on how you want to go about learning to trade. we can have 100 people come here, offer up some magnificent setups, systems or strategies.. some of them could be beautiful creations.. And I would be willing to bet that you would NOT use a single one of them long term.. Its just the nature of the game. markets change, and so do strategies and you always need to be one step ahead of everyone else.. you may indeed use it, but that would also take time and training to get a feel for how somebody elses strategies or setups may or may not work.. And this does not seem to be something you are used to doing.. To stay using one strategy for days or even weeks going thru the motions of using all that OT has to offer for testing from DO, to optimization to Strat Wizard, paper trading, adjusting each and ever Block in a strategy to all make it your own.. Finding which symbols to trade on, heck to even find which market or times to trade - its a daunting task where many people fail to do, INCLUDING MYSELF!! It's suggestive. If you post for example a Chart Template and ASK someone for some feedback - and if 10 people respond, you are going to get 10 different responses.. there's just no way to officially give you any sustatainable or proper feedback.. The person, whomever it maybe would have to download it and test it for themselves.. and then even so, whatever answer they give, its not really going to do you much good. They will just give you indicators or feedback on things they like and since everyone trades differently you may be dissappointed or worse, you will only get more frustrated.. Now in saying all that.. I do like the sounds of this.. Just a general area thread for discussion on anything everything trading from Forex to Stocks to Futures, etc.. Plus talking strategies, systems, symbols, etc.. Just do not be surprised if you dont see much participation!! It takes time out of peoples day. And, for what its worth .. all those other forums you are in, where you see much more acitivity .. If you find that's what you need, then it might be best to utilize them as a source of information. Granted, many of those too are just spam, people trying to sell or promote other products.. Nirvana forums, tho lack participation are going to be about as genuine as you get. But it might be something worth trying.. Can't hurt!! Barry, I'd definitely be interested in seeing if a thread like this can work.. Just an area for people to talk (Outside of Omnitrader and Visualtrader).. I understand we no longer have SWL which I did like.. but there was not enough participation.. Maybe something like this, wont be held to any time constraints as it doesn't matter if someone is logged in at the same time or not to chat, ya know?? | |
