As I worked charts forward one bar at a time (from a past date starting point), the signals on past dates would change as I moved forward. Rarely would a new signal appear at the hard right edge of the chart, on the current bar. Rather, the signal would suddenly appear somewhere on a past bar, say, 10 bars or more back. This sort of thing is of no use to an actual trader, and is one of the reasons I stopped using OT2008 and actually switched from trading to portfolio investing. Has the design and programming team at Nirvana Systems tackled this specific issue in the last 12 years since OT2008’s release, and if so, what specifically has been done to address and fix this problem? I think the software would be of more use and give more accurate test results if there was some way to lock a signal once it has been fired (so that it doesn’t move around), and to only allow new signals to be fired on the current bar in the chart, not on past bars. Can this be programmed in by the user if not already programed in by the design team? This feature should apply to exits as well. Once an exit has been signaled it should stay on that bar and not move. Another thing that I think would be good is to allow reinforcing signals during an active trade. In other words, the line that starts at a signal signifying an ongoing trade could continue while also accepting reinforcing signals. Does OT2020 do any of this? |
