Many thanks for your detailed response Barry, much appreciated

Firstly I don't believe the VEA issue is the same as the Exchange Information issue even tho the symbols are the same so I will respond to that in the original thread.

IMNSHO I don't think 2 devices whether real or virtual is a "reasonable" solution for what is essentially an application design/software issue. Having a Global Exchange Information setting is great but there should be an option to override it in the profile. It would be conceptually simple, if the local i.e. Profile Exchange Information is not set it defaults to the Global Exchange Information setting.

I agree it will be tedious switching Exchange Information settings but it's cheaper than 2 devices except in terms of time and hopefully not for long until the Profile Exchange Information settings are implemented :-D That said, the raw data i.e. historical price & volume, should always be determined by the Data Source! More on this in the https://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/otforum/thread-view.asp?threadid=16534&posts=4 thread

My MetaStock data is all setup correctly and I've created an ASX Template Profile so I don't have to do it repetitively for each ASX profile I have. Altho doing quarterly updates is still extremely tedious which begs the question, why can't/doesn't OT automatically sync with my MetaStock folders so I don't have to do this repetitively? The obvious proviso here is that I want all the symbols in the folder which in my case I do because my data provider, Premium Data https://www.premiumdata.net, supports custom folders to meet my needs e.g. Market Cap Lists
S&P ASX 20
S&P ASX 50
S&P ASX MidCap 50
S&P ASX 100
S&P ASX 200
S&P ASX 300
ASX All Ordinaries
S&P ASX Small Ordinaries
ASX All Equities

See attached for a comprehensive list of typical focus lists provided by OS that UD users would potentially be interested in if it wasn't so cumbersome to manage. I have asked in the past whether OD would be supporting ASX data in the future and got a flat no :-(

I've just had a light bulb moment to ease the burden of keeping UD focus lists current, could I code custom lists in the OL IDE and incorporate those in OS? I might have to talk with Jim Dean if he's listening :-)

Anyway, many thanks for your continued efforts Barry, I'm definitively not ungrateful so I hope it doesn't come across that way :-)

Cheers
