Q: I can't connect to Quote.com/I can't get data from Quote.com. What can I do to get connected?
A:
TEST: Click on Edit/Data Settings/Advanced/Communication Log. Click the Test Daily Connection button to test the end of day & Test Real-Time Connection to test the real time feed.
1. Close OmniTrader. Disable any firewall and antivirus software you may have running. Make sure that you are connected to the internet, & then open OmniTrader. Try above TEST.
*If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2, follow this on how to disable Microsoft's firewall:
a. Open your Control Panel.
b. Open Window's Security Center.
c. Click Windows Firewall.
d. Under the General tab, select Off.
e. Click Ok to save the changes.
2. Click on Edit/Data Settings. Make sure you are using the correct Quote.com ID & Password. The ID & Password are both case sensitive. Try entering your ID & Password, then click OK. Try above TEST.
3. Click on Edit/Data Settings. Click the drop-down arrow & select NONE & click OK. Close the program. Restart OmniTrader & click Edit/Data Settings & change NONE to Quote.com. It will put in your ID & Password you had typed in step 1. Try above TEST.
4. Make sure you are signed up with Quote.com's QCharts service & not Live Charts. Live Charts is not compatible with OmniTrader. If you have Live Charts, please contact Quote.com at 781-370-3456.
5. Click here for Recent Quote.com issues as they may be having server problems:

6. In the C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT200# folder, delete the TEMP folder & the continuumclient.ini file. Try above TEST.
7. Close Qcharts and OmniTrader. Download & install the file from this link:

Save the file to your desktop. Once complete double click the executable file to run the installation. Any outdated continuumclient.ini files will be replaced, and you will get a message stating the number of copies that were replaced on your system. Try above TEST.
8. Close OmniTrader & run your OmniTrader Updater. It should open up a website in your browser. If you see this message,
"Note: Your OmniTrader software is current, but if you would still like to download a release choose one below."
then you do not need to install an update, so close your browser & proceed to step 9 now. Otherwise click the NEXT button & then click INSTALL. Once the installation is complete, you may close your browser. Then open OmniTrader & try above TEST.
9. Open Internet Explorer. Click on Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings. Under Proxy Server, is Use a Proxy Server for your LAN enabled? If so, you can try disabling it & click ok twice, open OT & try above TEST.
10. If OmniTrader still does not connect or if you are able to connect but not get data, please check again if you've disabled your firewall(s), antivirus, popup blocker, parental control software, & download accelerator & try above TEST.
11. If it's still a problem please contact Nirvana support.
