Hello All, How would go about creating a scan hereby I can see both the ADX D+1 and the D-1 on my charts ? Thanking you in advance. Gerry Actually what I'm looking for is a scan that will show me the stocks that the D+1 has been going higher for at least 2 bars but on this current bar it is lower than the prior bar AND at the same time that the D-1 has been coming down for at least 2 bars but on this current bar it closes higher. These would be exact opposites. On the other scan I would want to see a different variation of this setup meaning that this other scan I would want to see the D+! has been coming down for at least 2 bars but on this current bar it closes higher than the prior bar and that the D-1 had been going up for at least 2 bars but on this current bar it closes lower. I would want to have the choice of using one of the Fib numbers such as 8, or 13 or 21 to work with to see which one would work out best . Hope this all makes sense ? THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE Gerry [Edited by Gerry on 10/9/2020 9:41 AM]

Gerry: What I think you are asking for is a Plot that contains the ADX, the Directional Index Plus and the Directional Index Minus. If so that is attached. As to the scan I would have to scratch my head on that for a while. Tom Helget ![]()

Hello again Tom What I mean by going or going down is going up to me means a lower reading as in the D+1 two bars ago was at 13.92 and the bar before the current bar is at 12.75 and the current bar is at 22.64 thus this current reading of 22.64 is higher than the prior bar of 12.75. Now, the D-1 was at 21.13 two bars ago and one bar ago was at 25.91 and at the close of this current bar the reading was at 22.12. This 22.12 is lower than the prior bar’s reading of 25.91. Now, when I am looking at these two ( the D+1 and the D-1 ) they are opposite as the D+1 is turning up and the D-1 is turning down. Now, one the other scan it would be similar but this one the D+1 would be at 31.86 two bar’s ago and one bar ago the reading was at 33.64 and the current D+1 reading is at 31.53 which is a lower than the reading the prior bar’s 33.64. Now, on the D-1 the reading two bars ago was 15.15 and the reading one bar ago was 11.24 and the current D-1 reading is at 19.78 thus the 19.78 is higher than the prior reading of 11.24. Hope that this helps you in trying to see what I’d like to see on my charts. If not doable then how would I apply the formula that you sent me and write it a complete formula that I would see along with my RSI or Stochastics readings ? Again, thanks for any other guidance that you can send me. I TRULY APPRECIATE YOUR TAKING TIME TO LOOK AT THIS FOR ME. Yours, Gerry

Gerry: OK, I created two scans and called them 1 and 2. For the first scan I used the sequential template from oldest to newest values of: DIPlus 13.92 12.25 22.64 DIMinus 21.13 25.91 22.12 And for the second scan I used the sequential template from oldest to newest values of: DIPlus 31.86 33.64 31.53 DIMinus 15.15 11.24 19.78 They are attached. Please note that you might want to change the Starting Population and add some other Criteria Rules as there are a lot of resultant candidates in each scan. Please let me know if this is what you had in mind. Tom Helget ![]() ![]()

Gerry: Attached is the new OmniScan you requested which shows DMI+/DMI- crosses. Do not try to overlay Nirvana's DMI+ over its DMI- as often the two do not seem to be equally scaled. Instead use the Indicator I posted in this thread to see the crosses: And make sure you are on the daily timeframe. Tom Helget [Edited by EYEGUY on 10/11/2020 12:30 PM] ![]() ![]()

Hi, Tom Fyi ... if you want to see the ADX and DI's on the same pane with a common scale, just use SetScales(0,60) in an OLang indicator and that will force all of them to a common y-axis. The 60 is arbitrary, btw. If you want to you can get cutesy and use SetScales(MinV,MaxV), where MinV and MaxV are set in the program dynamically for each bar to be the lowest and highest of the three (ADX, DI+, DI-) values for that bar. Works nicely.

SaxInJax: Open up the OmniScan interface via the Pencil icon and right click on any Custom List. Select Import List and when the interface appears navigate to where you downloaded the .otl file and select it and hit Open. It will then appear in your Custom Lists. Hope that helps! Tom Helget

You may also import a scan by placing the .otl file inside the ScanImports folder - OT will import .otl files from that location automatically on startup. |
