Support: Recently I constructed an OmniScan utilizing the Monthly Seasonality Indicator, SEAM (attached). My goal was to limit my choices to those stocks showing a historical current monthly return from 2000 to 2009 of greater than 7%: I also added the indicator to my Focus List. In some cases my scan gave values that were spot on: In other cases the values in the Focus List and that show visually on the plotted indicator did not concur: And, then there are the cases where not only did the scan not produce the desired result but the Focus List value and the plotted indicator values did not agree: Can you please check to see if the SEAM indicator is working properly or instruct me on how to construct my scan to achieve my desired results. Thanks, Tom Helget [Edited by EYEGUY on 4/19/2010 9:49 AM] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I also never had any success getting the Seasonality Indicator to work in OmniScan and I tried all possible combinations. The Seasonality Indicator is a great tool for finding stocks with the highest probability of moving up in a given month and to have those stocks filtered with OmniScan would be of great benefit to us all. Instead of having 1,000's of stocks to analyze which can take much time, OmniScan with the SEAM filter would be able to reduce that number down to the very best stocks thus saving us valuable analyzing time when running our To Do List without having to sort thru this list afterward. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I have just finished testing your criteria rules and duplicated the inconsistency on my machine. Therefore, this has been promoted as a bug to our development team. Best regards, Thad Nirvana Support

I believe the issue with the seasonality indicator and OmniScans are related and the development are trying to tackle both (still). I am sorry about the delay, but I can assure you they are very busy getting these issues resolved. Regards, Thad Nirvana Support

Sorry it isn't fixed yet. I can't force developers at gunpoint to fix something, but I will increase the priority.

Barry: I thought you guys were in Texas. When I was there in the service every pickup truck had a gunrack with at least five rifles on it. But, yeah, I understand, although it would be nice to get this fixed once and for all. Tom Helget

I guess the rumors were not true after all. I'd heard tell of Barry James and his gang Barry Earp and his buddy Doc Barry Then of course there was word about Barry Cassidy down in south america somewhere And Wild Barry Keycruncher And hey - do you really own a big blue Ox? :-> [Edited by Jim Dean on 7/25/2011 12:11 PM]

I had a developer look into it further. The reason for this behavior is because OmniScan doesn't look back that far when calculating, only 250 bars. So the information it returns isn't going to match what you see in the chart, columns, or voteline. We will be releasing server side Seasonality scans next week that do look back 10 years though.

Barry: Thanks for finally "resolving" this long-standing issue. Tom Helget |
