I tried to migrate my OT2007/OmniData to my new x64 Vista Ultimate system, but I got a DLL registration error for (SF3rdDev.dll)on install. The install went through (I configured OT for XP compatibility), however OmniData would not recognize the DATA directory for SYMBOLS32.MDB and would not download any data.

HELP!

You likely have an older disk. Check the disk itself & see what version it is, R1, R2, etc. If it is not at least R3 than you will need a new disk.

How can I get the new disk?

Got it and installed it.
It works now.
Thanks.

Another issue came up however. After the R4 update ran, the OTDataMaintenance2007.exe crashes (stops working). Is there a setting that I need to set for this utility?

If it only happened once or twice, it's ok. You might try restarting the machine, then open & close OT. It's not a necessary process for OT to work, it just cleans up some files after you close OT. If it fails every time you close OT try browsing to the C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT200#\Results folder & delete all the contents. These are only temporary files.

Are you using OmniData?

Close OmniTrader. Browse to your C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT200#\Profiles folder. There should be many files with the extension .otp. If you see any files that end in the extension .ldb, delete them.

Also check if there are any Profiles that are extremely large in size. Any that are over 100 MB?

tried that too....

It looks like DEP is being triggered. I tried turning it off for that file but the system would not let me.

Is your UAC (User Account Control) enabled?

You can disable Vista’s UAC & restart the machine. Here are instructions. Try Method #4 Using Control Panel. Once disabled try to download with the ToDo List. If you get errors please let me know what they are. When it's done close OT & see if you get the same behavior. Also attach the OT.log file located in the C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT2007 folder.

Strange problem LTango. I am running OT 2009 + Omnidata/Omniscan on a Vista 64 laptop and the install as well as running it daily has been absolutely flawless. No issues at all (UAC is enabled, I have to allow OT to run every time).

You might need to get a newer version of OT to work better with Vista 64 bit such as OT2008 or OT2009.
