With my IQFeed I have real time on the CBOT and CME. All the continuous contracts for which I edit the futures contract to get the the desired continuous contract download and display correctly.
When I let the database add a monthly contract by selecting and specifying the contract month it creates a symbol.
In this case I am getting the August soybeans contract. Using the Globex ZS it shows ZSQ7 and it plots correctly but displays "delayed data. Using the day contract gets SQ7 and that has no data.
Entering @SQ17 in the IQWatch quotes verifies that as a correct symbol.

I only discover these things slowly because I use the continuous contract for all the analysis and only pull up a monthly contract to set up a trade. I enter trades manually in IB rather than with OT connected to the brokerage because most symbols do not translate to IB successfully. I would like to be able to get the monthly contracts to load and display properly in OT though.

Hi Larry

Was this symbol translation issue between IQFeed and IB ever resolved or do you still enter your trades manually?

I would like to try automating Forex Futures trading using IQFeed and IB.
