I am using OT 2012 60 mins charts with exits set at "Market on close current bar through Stop".

Now, whenever there is an exit at the end of the 60 mins bar i.e stop loss has been trigerred .The focus list will still show the trade as pending(the blue line) and displays as an confirmed exit only on the "Close" of the next/following bar.Unlike in earlier versions which displays an exit at the end of the bar and not close of the new bar like it should be.

If it shows as pending in the focus list its sometimes hard to determine if there is an actual exit or not.It seems to be a general technical error which could be solved with an update which i had bought to notice about a year back but still remains unresolved. It might be a small issue but makes trading really difficult with Omnitrader if i have to keep confirming if there is an actual exit by manually looking at the symbols chart.

Attached image of orders block and focus list with pending status at close of bar, when there actually has been an exit.

I reported and documented this thoroughly over a year ago.
That is, the inconsistency with the triangles on the vote line with the vertical exit lines on the chart.
There is also an inconsistency in the stats (price and date) that the Advisor shows.
I don't know why, but Nirvana has chosen not to fix it.

Jim,

You mentioned " the inconsistency with the triangles on the vote line with the vertical exit lines on the chart"....is that the same issue which i was talking about?

Not exactly, but I suspect the two may be related.

The issue I reported and over-the-top documented was exits and entries sometimes having contradictory plotted dates (vote line triangles vs vert lines plotted on chart) - and the dates and prices reported by the Advisor.

The docs are buried by now somewhere in the past threads.

Jim,

I am glad that someone else apart from me is knowing about this..it becomes really difficult when trading lower time frames(5min/10 mins)..i have to constantly monitor the charts to see if there is an exit or not and if you have multiple symbols in the focus list which you are trading forgot about it..it becomes really annoying and frustrating..it seems like a simple fix i do not know why it cant be done..i just feel like downgrading to OT 2011..

Is this issue prevalent in OT 2013?

I have not bothered to test it in 2013, until 2013 gets more fully stabilized.

I don't see a blue line - just a green square. ??

Yes the green square its actually blue the screenshot changes the color quality a bit...

Please take a look again if you wish at the "green square" under the "sig" column in the focus list right after the symbol name..

That green square means the trade just exited. It does not mean pending - it means done.

yes it is an exit but this is "market on close current bar through stop)".The green square will disappear/confirm only on the close of the next bar.when it should be at the end of the exited bar..

I just got a email from support saying that its a fix which is still in process(since a year btw)..

I would expect the green square (don't know what green line you refer to) to appear at the moment OT knows the bar is complete - ie at the opening print of the next bar. It should last for that entire bar.

The chart you showed had a fully developed new bar showing.

The way OT works (documented and explained many times elsewhere) is that it does not have an "event" fired at the close - it "knows" the bar is "over" when the "next bar open" event hits.

So are you saying that it is right if the green square remains until the "end" of the fully developed new bar?

Yup

The green square indicates that the exit occurred on the prior bar.

Much like a green triangle means an entry will occur on the next bar.

So should the green square disappear on the open of the new bar OR close of the new bar?
In 2011 OT it used to do it at the open.

Sequence:

Exit occurs on a bar
Green square appears at open of next bar and lasts throughout that bar
Then green square changes to a dash.

On something related

What would happen if the closing price of the bar and the fixed stop loss were the same would that be considered an exit i.e closing price of the bar for example is $450 and the fixed stop loss line is price $450?Would OT consider that as an exit...for "market on close current bar through stop"

Not sure. Only nirvana knows their own code. Broker would consider it an exit if the price touches. But description uses the word "through". My guess is yes. But I would not sweat it re one tick.
