I've been using IQFeed for a year and have had several issues with using their datastream with other charting programs. Is eSignal any better? I remembe reading a thread here in 2020 that discussed eSignal likely not working in the future with 3rd party programs -- did they eventually do that? Or do you need to subscribe to their $300 a month datastream option in order to use it with Omnitrader?
Thanks.

I don't know if eSignal finally dropped their 3rd party support.
I remember having some problems with them and OT... but I don't remember what it was.
I've have very few (if any) problems currently using both Omnidata RT and IQFeed RT.

Thanks Mark. IQFeed has been hit or miss for me so far, but given the fact that there aren't many alternatives for OT and eSignal may be just as fussy, I guess I'm stuck with DTN.

I have been a long time user of eSignal Datafeed for Indian Stocks. I have also used MetaStock Xenith. I was not very happy with their datafeed because they have some peculiar way of constructing the intraday bars which doesn't match with data shown by exchanges (There is a separate thread reg this issue). From my experience I can say that eSignal is the most reliable and hassle free datafeed money can buy. I never had any issue with their datafeed.
Nearly a year ago I was told by their sales and technical support executives that they have decided to drop support for third party applications. However it still continue to work with third party applications like OT & VT. I had several rounds of online chats at different dates with them. It seems to me that they have no clarity on when they will finally pull the plug or whether they will rethink their decision to stop support for 3rd party apps.
Earlier they used to have one data service called "eSignal Data Access" which provided just data (without eSignal TA platform) which was specifically meant for third party apps and it was much cheaper than eSignal Signature. Unfortunately they are no longer offering it.
So still there is no clarity on what they are going to do with 3rd party support. But if it is available I will always go for it.
P.S. Barry since Nirvana has deep connections with eSignal, can you find out from someone at a senior level as to what they are planning to do with 3rd party support? The people who attend the online chat seems to have no clarity on this.
