Hi,

When I start OT, I get a 'Trade Session Error: Errors occured while loading the exchanges trading session. Check the application log file for specific information.'
The program seems to run without a hitch after I acknowledge this error. I am using user data and my exchange is set to AU ASX and my symbols are set to AU also.

Any ideas on how to rectify this?

Cheers,

Tim

Tim,

I can see from the log you submitted that your Tradesession error is coming from the changes you made to the FOREX exchange. Please click on Edit, Exchange Information and highlight the FOREX. Click the Edit button and check all of the session. At least 1 of your sessions is over-lapping. Keep in mind that each session should start and end on the same weekday.

I just started getting this Trade Session Error, checked the OT log, and find following: "4/14/2008 7:17:58 AM TradeSession Error - US:CME_Currencies(Night) has overlapping sessions."

So, checked the exchange data for this, and did find multiple overlaps. So, I've eliminated the overlaps, but I don't know if the sessions are correct -- there are 14 shown in this installation, and 10 in another. I did a Google search and came up with 26,800 hits, so I'm not going to plow through those to try to find the correct data! What should be the entries for these data?

I've never made any changes to the Exchange information, and I don't do currency trades, so I presume this is an error introduced through corruption. How do we know that other entries haven't been corrupted if they don't happen to overlap?

I edited this trade session three times, closing OT and restarting in between, and the same error reoccurred. Now on the forth time, I get the error again, but this time, when I try to edit the trade session, I get a new error: "Error 5: Column 'Start Day, Start Time' is constrained to be unique. Value '5, 1/1/0001 2:30:00 PM' is already present..
Occured in routine - frmEditExchange .LoadData" and it won't let me edit the trade session.

Looks like a problem of access to the hard disk files. I'll try restarting the PC to see if error continues.

Close OmniTrader. In the C:\Program Files\Nirvana\data folder, delete the Exchangeinfo.otd file, then restart OmniTrader 2008, not 2005. If you had changed your settings under Edit/Exchange Information they will need to be re-entered. But that should give you the latest Exchange information. This file is shared by each version of OT that you have installed.
