I am trying to export all my trades from various port sim methods for post processing in Excel. The exporting works fine as long as you don’t use the legacy excel format which still crashes my OT21.

Anyway, my question is why are several but, not all, of the numeric fields exported as text? Both date fields and both trade price fields are formatted as text and populate with errors indicating the problem. The G/L field is formatted properly as a currency, so its clearly possible and not a crystal reports limitation. This makes it impossible to use those text (number) fields for further analysis without re-formatting them manually or, writing a macro to do it for me.

Yes, I can fix them every time I export a report but, it is painful and time consuming. If I have missed something that allows exporting these fields with proper formatting let me know. If not, please put this feature request in the suggestion box. Thanks, Tim

OT crashing while exporting is a very old issue which was reported couple of years back.

Good morning Tim…
Until they change the export, you can just convert the number in the text columns using “=Value(cell)”.
Here’s an example where I just filled in columns L-U with =value()

You’ll need to format the columns correctly and Cols M, N & O need to just copy B, C & D [instead of =value() ], but it works to give you values you can then calculate in excel.

Thanks Vinay. I saw your earlier post and just though I would pile on to get it fixed or, removed so I and others stop stubbing our collective toes on it. Cheers.

Thanks Mark,

That's a little more elegant and easier to record than my solution of highlighting the columns with Shift-END, Dn Arrow and then correcting using the error message at top. I will try that.

Cheers.
