My Santa's Wishlist for OT2023 1) Rank Columns for the Focus List I want to sort a Focus List by an indicator column, then right click on a "Rank" column and have the numbers in the Rank column auto-fill from 1 to n, similar to auto-fill in Excel. I would like to be able to have several "Rank" columns. Rank1 .. Rank5? Why? Because I want to track things like Relative Strength Rank over time. Five Rank columns would allow me to see trends in sector and group rotation. But I can think of a lot of uses for Rank vs. a raw indicator reading. 2) A "Stay In Drawing Mode" button for the drawing toolbar If I want to draw a dozen support/resistance lines, it would be nice to turn on "Stay In Drawing" mode, select the S/R tool, and start clicking away. When I am done drawing S/R lines, I can turn off "Stay In Drawing" mode. 3) "Horseshoe" (or "grenade") mode for drawing tools (the "Close Enough" option...) I find it hard to click exactly on a drawing or drawing adjust point. Similar to the Magnet tool, I would like a "Horseshoe" tool that allows me to click in the vicinity of a drawing or handle and have it activate. 4) A "Drawing Objects" tab to the Chart Properties dialog box There is an Indicators tab which allows me to easily select and modify properties on indicators I have placed on a chart. I want the same thing for drawings I have placed on the chart. 5) OmniLanguage enhancements to support Option Chain and Greek access programmatically via OL. I want to write OL that can determine things like width of a spread, IV on a particular option, the Delta of a particular option, which strikes are available, what expiration series are available, Bid and Ask price, . Etc. With that support, I could write some killer OmniScans to find specific option trade candidates. (I can provide pseudo code for OL functions if desired...) 6) Set-able Radio Buttons for chart period EOD profiles provide hard coded buttons for 3, 6, 9, 12, or All. (months implied). I want to right click on the button and assign 10, 21, 63, 504, or whatever I want. (bars implied) It would be really nice if the button durations were template specific. It would be super nice if each timeframe chart also had separate button durations. Bars make the most sense to me... 7) Lastly, I use hot keys whenever possible. I would like to be able to assign hot-keys to just about everything in OT. Hot-keys for every drawing tool. Hot-keys for adding a favorite indicator to a chart. Hot-keys for my favorite chart templates. Etc. I just spend too much time searching through long menus and listboxes to get to my MRU and favorite stuff. 8) Ok. I lied. One more... The chart watermark is cool, but I want to be able to change the location, color, and opacity of the watermark. Thanks, Santa, for your consideration. Cheers

Great suggestions Keith, my favourite by far is #6, being able to program for options would be truly amazing. The options interface might seem great but I have yet to figure out how to drive it or get to the option chains I want. An example is trading 0 DTE on SPX, selling vertical spreads e.g. 1. Sell 10 delta puts and buying put 20 strikes lower when SPX is oversold i.e. CRSI/RSI < 5/10 and next bar reverses 2. Sell 10 delta call and buying call 20 strikes higher when SPX is overbought i.e. CRSI/RSI > 90/85 and next bar reverses 3. You can use Iron Condors but I prefer to leg into each side when oversold/overbought BTW If anyone knows how to do this with the existing OT23/Optiontrader, I would be delighted to hear from you ☺ Another good suggestion are hoykeys/keyboard shortcuts which are sooooo much faster then chasing a rat (the bane of my life) around the screen, please implement shortcuts that work ALL the time irrespective of whether the focus list is active or not … Cheers Aztrix

Well, I just downloaded and installed OT2023. So I guess this thread should be renamed my 2024 Santa OT2024 Wishlist. And I will add another item... 9) A notification within OT when a new model year is released, with an option to install it. And please add me back to whatever marketing list I need to be on to hear about new major releases of all Lifetime NClub software products(OT, VT, Plugins and ARM upgrades.) Thanks for your consideration. |
