Hi to all!
I am a new member of the forum and also subscribed very recently to Omnitrader.
First of all, a big thanks to Nirvana staff and developers for the product. I think it is a very unique Product out there in the market and I am glad to join you guys...
Well, my question is this.
Since I am European and I invest not only in US Stocks, but also in European markets.
I am very happy with Omnidata and I want to continue using it for the US market. But regarding Europe my choice is rather limited regarding data feed. Only Metastock offers such data.
So my question is:
Is there an easy way to add European Metastock data into Omnitrader, without messing around (and doing something stupid) and to co-exist with Omnidata's US data?
Even if I am obligated to import them somehow manually every day, I don't mind.
I am an EOD guy after all, I don't like day trading. :)
(I read also that Metastock data comes with a Downloader program, which can convert, sort and convert data - if that makes any help)
Has anyone done this?
Can it be done?
Thank you very much for your answers!

Welcome!
Yes, Metastock data works in OmniTrader & can coexist with OmniData. But that doesn't mean there's a potential problem. First we need to find out a few things about what you're doing...
1. Are you using Metastock Xenith or no? If not, then I assume it's Metastock EOD/User data. Judging by your EOD comments, I doubt you're using Xenith, but I need to make sure, cause Xenith can be used in EOD too.
2. Under Edit/Exchange Information, are you setting OT to a country other than US?
3. Have you tried any Metastock data yet inside OT to get charts & it didn't work or are you asking if it's possible?

Hi Barry!
Thanks for answering!
I'll start with number 3.
No, I haven't done anything yet. I'm first asking because I'm strongly thinking of doing it...
When you are talking about Xenith, what do you mean exactly? I thought Xenith was just Metastock's platform. Do you mean their data?
In fact, I was thinking of subscribing to Metastock's EOD Datalink for European Markets.
Is that what you mean?
PS. I want to use Omnidata for US market and Metastock's Data for European Market. If that is possible, it would be really appreciated if you could tell me how it can be done, or point me to a guide of doing it, so that both data can co-exist without a problem...

Hi again!
Just wanted to let you know, that I subscribed to the European datalink of Metastock, and through trials and errors, everything seems to work fine right now!
Tried the "User Data" in the "Focus List" with Legacy format (of course I don't know what it is, but it worked) :)
Thanks again for your interest, have a good day all!

Xenith is Metastock's streaming data service. Datalink is their EOD data service.
Looks like you got it working without my help, nice! The only thing I will add is there will be a problem if there are any symbols in the US market that are the same symbol in the other market. If there aren't any, then you shouldn't have any issue.

I don't think there'll be a problem, because I noticed that even if some symbols match, all of them have an extension next to their initial symbol with the country code...
Thanks for your support Barry anyway!
