I am having trouble getting OT2014 EoD to connect to Interactive Brokers. I have set up my IB account and enabled OT2014 to use IB. I downloaded and followed the Integrated Brokerage manual for IB and configured the API settings accordingly. However, I still can't connect (I start TWS first as instructed). I will attempt to attach some screen shots.

Please offer any suggestions or key to unlock this puzzle. Thank you!!

Error Message on OT says:
"A connection to "IB" could not be established. Please ensure that IB TWS or Gateway is running. Also, ensure you have enabled API communication and your settings are correct."

What version of IB do you have installed? 939.3 is the latest supported version & can be downloaded from here. Other than that, just make sure TWS or IB Gateway is running when OT tries to connect to it.

I am using TWS 939.3 version and have doubled checked my settings. The help desk said the error message is associated with Active X controls. I checked my API settings again and Active X is enabled.

I am still getting the message. Could it be associated with WebRoot the security shield/virus protection software? Also, TWS is running before I try to logon. Customer support offered to "remote" in but I wasn't available at my workstation. I'll have to try tomorrow unless someone has another suggestion. Thanks for your assistance!

I've just setup OT2020 2B using the hyperlink in this thread. That installed IB Gateway 978 AND TWS 978.1g. I made the recommended changes to the IB configuration.

I can connect OT to either TWS or Gateway, and OT correctly shows Current Positions in the Focus List.

The issue is that if I place an order in OT or click on the broker icons such as $ or default then TWS or Gateway will pop up in front of OT.
There is no way to get account value or orders placed in OT broker, because any click into those fields results in TWS or Gateway popping up.

Do you have any suggestions?

Are you able to click a chevron in the chart? That should be all you need to access for order placing.
