Hello Tom,

Can your revised Grail Strategy (based on Kris's programming) be incorporated into a OmniTrader 2007 RealTime, as this is what I have? Note, I dont use OmniScan/OmniData, but a 3rd party market feed ("User Data")

Apparently I can use the Grail strategy, but I can not MODIFY it in OT2007 RealTime? Is this correct?

PS: See also mail I have send you regarding exact installation thereof if this is indeed the case.

Sincerely,
Charl Theron

Mmm, I'm a bit puzzled here. A question relating to the directory structure of OmniTrader2007 RealTime, as this is the version I'm using (patched to latest):

Tom Helget send me the following instructions for the "Grial" Trading system:

Transfer his Grail files to the following directories:

GrailInd.txt .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/VBA/Indicators
GrailSys.txt .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/VBA/Systems
Grail.ots .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/Strategies
Holy_Grail.otd .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/ChartTemplates
holy grail.otp .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/Profiles

All is OK with the last 3 above.

But it seems my .../Program Files/Nirvana/OT2007/VBA folder do not contain the required .../Indicators or the .../Systems directory. Should I then ADD these specific directories in the VBA folder myself ?

PS: My VBA directory has the follwing 4 directories within:

...VBA/ColorCharts
...VBA/NamedFormulas
...VBA/Strategies and
...VBA/Temp.

That's it. Any pointers as to where I missed my morning filter coffee?

I'm aware that I can USE the "Grail" strategy Tom has so kindly "ported" to non-Pro versions of OT2007 and that it cannot be edited/changed.

Sincerely,
Charl Theron

Hello Winecape,

It is that simple, create these missing files in your VBA folder as you suggest, save the info in the appropriate files, and hey presto, there you go.

I have also had help with deciphering this Grail info from Tom & Kris, so I guess I can pass it on.

Regards

Ha! A shining knight on a white horse arrives with the name of ... "The Stock" ;-)

Much obliged Stockman. I'll create then the directories in the VBA folder and deposit Tom's two text files (GrailSys & GrailInd) into the respective directories.

Stay well and trade successfully.
Sincerely,
Charl Theron

Where is that non-Pro version? (I've been following this thread from the start, but have only seen comments before that Pro version is required.)

Thanks.

Is a non-OT Pro version still available of the Holy Grail indicator? I can't find it here either.

Thanks!

Hi Bill,
I just got OT Real Time 2008. Would I be able to install the Holy Grail formulas into it? If so, could you tell me how?
Thanks,
Deepak

OK, two questions:

1)I notice that the retracements BACK to the 20 MA (whether from the highs or the lows) is also pretty powerful. Can you show us a system to catch those moves?

2) I do not have OT Pro. The last version I have is OT 2006. Can you please code a system for 2006?

Much thanx!

Dale

Dale,

You're right. Retracements to the 20 EMA are powerful. But the 20 EMA is just a guide line. It is more the pattern that we are interested in. The probability of a successful trade dramatically increases if the ADX remains above 25 (Don't remember if I have already posted that in this thread or not -:) )

Unfortunately, you would need OT Pro for programming retracements to the 20 EMA, in my opinion. To program the pattern, we would need the Nirvana team, I fear.

I still use this pattern nearly every day.

Is there any way to get that working in the stocks edition of OT2008?
or is it possible for someone with pro to compile it and then can place the complied file in ot2008 stocks
