L[1]L[1] does not mean anything at all.
I am surprised that it compiled without error.
"capture a lower low from a prior bar" ... not sure what you mean ... do you mean you want a condition where the prior bar's low is lower than the current bar ... or the opposite?
The first of those would be:
L[1] < L
The opposite would be:
L < L[1]
