There's this wonderful little dialogue that crops up after there's been a bug detected in OT asking whether you want to submit the OT.log. I always say yes in the hope that I will be helping to improve the products but alas I am yet to receive a single followup to the 100s or 1000s of OT dumps I've submitted in ±20 years, which makes me wonder, have you ever submitted said OT dump to Nirvana and received a followup? What is the point?


I have sent reports for over 15 years and nothing gets responded to.


Aztrix, I looked up the recent error you submitted. I'm not sure the exact cause of it, but I think it may have been related to something in the profile or Port Sim method you were working with. Since you reinstalled everything it's probably too late to try to figure out what happened, but please let us know if you see it or another error again.

Like submitting an error report to Microsoft on a Windows error, we do not respond to them either. We use them in different situations like right now for example you mentioned you submitted an error log & I was able to go look at it. We can also look at log history & see how often a certain error is occurring, when it began, & other helpful information. Hopefully you continue to submit them, cause they do help, but we don't have enough staff to respond to them. But the typical use is so that when you do get an error & ask about it in email, chat, or forum we are then able to go look it up & save the time needed to ask you for the log & wait for it.
