Leaving aside the AltC lock - unlock new feature, I having trouble with the unlocked version of crosshairs. Specifically working with one symbol on 3 timeframe on 3 monitors the following is experienced: 1. Most of the time the vertical crosshair (CH) is lost. Sometimes the vertical is also there with the horizontal but not usually. 2. Sometimes moving the CH on one monitor results in the CH hard stopped on a different price and time on another monitor. 3. To clear CH on all timeframes in OT20, a click on one chart will make them all disappear on each TF. Not so now. It's erratic how an when the CH disappear. 4. You need to test with multiple TF's on multiple monitors for the same symbol. I suspect that this was a one monitor quick change for the AltC feature. Since my trading approach uses multiple timeframes to access momentum force, I cannot use OT21 so I've fallen back to OT20.

I installed OT2021 on day one availability, and had to constantly fight the problem that you described (VERY aggravating)concerning the vertical cross hair disappearing, on different charts, symbols, and templates. Today the vertical cross hair is working perfectly, and I cannot get it to replicate yesterday's problem. I do not recall closing/restarting OT, or restarting the computer, though I might have done so. --Mark G.

Barry, I can't figure how a screen shot would work. It's just 2 thin black lines with no representation whether the crosshairs were selected or not. I would suggest however, a multi monitor setup (maybe a large enough monitor capable of depicting 4 panels) and then the following done over 2 OT21 sessions (seperated by elsecting exit between the 2 separate sessions.) 1. crosshairs on same symbol different timeframes, see multiple crosshairs tap one screen to see the crosshairs disappear then 2. alt_c to lock alt_c to unlock tap the screen to remove crosshairs. 3. repeat 1 above and evaluate effects. 4. exit the OT21 session. 5. start a new OT21 session 6. Do not use the new alc_c alt_c feature in this session but repeat 1 above two times. This will elimate effects and residual effects of the new alt_c feature. Then evaluate.

The screenshot(s) are really for viewing your configuration, not for seeing the issue in this case. The Print Screen key should work. Do you see the issue if you do not use ALT-C? Do you see the issue if you only use a single monitor for charting? Under Tools/Options/Chart Options, are you using the data values always on feature? Are you using the synched crosshairs across charts or no?

This is resolved in the upcoming PR2A. After looking more closely at your other reported issues, it sounds like you don't want them Synchronized & you can disable that under Tools -> Options -> Chart Options. Please try doing that & along with the PR2A fix I think it'll be better.

Wrong. I really want the synchronized cross-hairs. One symbol multiple time frames. Focus focus focus. That's how you get to Carnegie Hall. When will the fix-up release be available? If you can't as least restore cross-hair prior functionality then maybe pull the what's new AltC upgrade and revert, at least for now. Incidentally, the Gator is one fantastic trend indicator. I like the gator overlay and especially the AwesomeOsc Cross. I shortened the parameters to 3/19 (same ratio) and then it really sings.

After close OT21 and start OT21, the cross hairs (CH) are working fine today. This on one symbol, 4 timeframes (TF) and historical data of Oct 6 20. Per my tools chart options selections, they are yielding synchronized displays and data blocks across each TF. I did not dare to use the AltC feature. As an aside, with the Synced CH on TF's in place, I did a workout of the Vertical Line Drawing (VL) feature. The VL works fine for "show across all time frames." If CH on multi TF is a recurring problem than the VL drawing can serve as a viable substitute for AltC. Also, the exact ratio in the GTAOcross system is 3:20.4 (instead of 5:34) for a working shorter term system indicator. BTW, the awesome oscillator is similar to Tom Joseph's (Advanced Get) which Joseph used to highlight the subjective Elliott Wave Principle. Williams then used his Awesome Oscillator wave feature to track an Elliott Impulse 12345 wave. Here, if price movement is impulsive in wave 1 with a wave 3 (biggest histogram) following then a reliable impulse wave 5 would likely follow. Forgetting about Elliott Wave corrections, I've read where some traders base their trading approach on identifying a Wave 1 and Wave 3 in a likely Elliott Impulse pattern and only trading the Wave 5 impulse portion. It's described in Bill William's books. As an example, When Justine William's approaches a chart, her first question is "Where are we in the Elliott?, Impulse or Correction? (from using the awesome oscillator). She then chooses her trading approach. [Edited by Hey Ed! on 11/29/2020 2:02 PM]

Hey Ed! I hope Nirvana saw your comment - “ As an example, When Justine William's approaches a chart, her first question is "Where are we in the Elliott?, Impulse or Correction? (from using the awesome oscillator). She then chooses her trading approach. ” It would be a nice add to an new updated WaveTrader https://www.omnitrader.com/PDFs/WaveTrader3brochure.pdf?_fs=d9b78549-167d-4333-9e92-93a0c49c8ed2 [Edited by Daniel Wilson on 5/17/2021 6:42 PM]

If you use vertical CH as much as I do, to correlate price and indicator momentum among TF's then try a Vertical line drawing. Your eye will have to fill in the surrogate CH in the indicator panes but it's better than an unreliable CH. A support resistance drawing line will suffice for a horizontal CH. A bit hoakie but it will work. Bear in mind for each, if you use multiple time frames then this workaround seems to work best if you manage the drawings from the TF where first applied. Actually the workaround seems to work faster than the CH. |
