“Account Equity” is the $ sum-total of Cash and Securities (MTM) held in an Account ?
“Account Equity” is kept up to-date on a daily basis by my Broker and is supplied to Omnivest daily by my broker so that the that the many calculations required daily will be current as needed. ?
If my broker creates this number called "Account Equity”, does he take care of MTM issues and Cash flows into and out of the account ?
“Trading Equity” is the product of “Buying Power” (%) applied to “Account Equity” ($). I can only find one setting for “Buying Power” and that is in the default portfolio Testing application. I think that there maybe other settings tabs (or carry a different name) elsewhere that do the same thing ?
“Max % Invested” - How is this allocation % applied. i.e.: to what ?
“Trade Multiplier” - I understand how this % is applied to the “Strategy Allocation %” but I am wondering if the “Max % Invested” setting somehow enters into the calculation ?
“Base Equity” is a term used in Post 36801 of ‘setting up an account to trade an elite portfolio’. Would the use of “Base Equity” have the same meaning as “Account Equity” and/or “Trading Current Balance” found elsewhere ?
“Trade $” is the derivative of “Strategy Allocation %” * “Account Equity”. Does the account equity change daily as cash is received or disbursed and securities are MTM ?
“Maximum Exposure % per Symbol” is this % applied to ‘Account Equity’ or ‘Trading Equity’ ?
“Strategy Allocation %” - Just to make sure ! Once this amount is set it cannot be changed ?
Thanks to all
Jim

I'm not sure where you're getting "Account Equity" & MTM. Our Current Equity value is equivalent to IB's Net Liquidation Value. So if you look at your account in TWS it will be the value at the top. There may be a slight difference in these values due to how often IB updates through the servers & possibly other factors, but it should be close. IB should be able to tell you more about their value if you need specifics.

Yes.

That'd be a question for the broker. I would guess the answer is yes.

I'm not sure where you're getting this term either, "Trading Equity". In the case of IB, they supply us with a value called "Buying Power" & that's the value that is used. IB should be able to tell you more about their value if you need specifics.
In OmniVest there is a Trading Current Balance value, which is equivalent to Current Equity. And there is a Max % of Equity value in the settings. The Max % of Equity determines how much of your account's Current Equity is to be used to calculate new trades.

I see you're referring to Mark's post here. In his post it seems he's referring to "Account Equity", "Current Equity", or “Trading Current Balance", whatever you prefer to call the value.
