While Current Balance is being set correctly, the Account Log entries of this event are not correct and contain incorrect account balances. Check out account IB Live MH ETF LS for an example.

It's not supposed to show the exact balance in the log file. I asked years ago, & it logs some internally calculated value, but I forget the details.

It's definitely not showing the exact balance :-).
The log entry says Current Cash and the values range from -106465 to 162653. Neither end of the range is anywhere near my account value. If this is some internal number that is not Current Cash then the log message needs to be changed to either (a) state what the number is (it's not current cash), (b) provide the correct number, or (c) not display a number at all.
I'm assuming this log message is generated every time Current Balance is updated from TP, correct? If so, that's useful information for the user so I recommend not deleting the log message.
This is obviously not high priority but just one more thing to confuse users and should be fixed eventually.

Barry,
I did a little more digging on this. The log entry is correct and does indeed reflect the current cash balance of the account. IB defines the cash balance as the
"Net Asset Value of the account" minus "the value of the stock held in the account" (plus interest credits/debits, dividend credits/debits, etc)
The net asset value is what OV shows on the Trade Page as Current Balance. For margin accounts, the cash balance can range from a very large negative number if you've used almost all your buying power with long positions to a very large positive number if you've used almost all your buying power with short positions.
So, while the log message is correct, it's of no use to a user and is confusing. I would suggest that this log message be removed and replaced with one that provides the date/time that the Net Asset Value of the account is updated and the new value.
