OV can't trade foreign markets directly.. but there are a number of foreign stocks that trade on the American Exchanges.
I'd like to see Lists for these major areas ..
- Canadian Companies
- Aussie Companies
- UK Companies
- EMEA Companies
- Brazil Companies
etc
This would allow one diversify internationally (Avoid Fiscal cliff etc)
It would also allow me to manually trade my CDN Retirement accounts that have a CDN equity bias and are not available at IB.
And to start it off .. Here is a list Canadian Stocks/ADRs with OmniData symbols.

I support this request. Using OmniTrader and Interactive Brokers I have been able to successfully trade several strategies for both Australia and the UK, in addition to other strategies I trade in the US.
Adding the markets suggested by Wes opens up further opportunities to add symbol lists to increase time in market and reduce the aggregate equity curve drawdown.
Also IMHO there is also an untapped market for OV. There are many people who are country centric, and I believe that there are potential customers who would trade their own market and not the US. There is a huge opportunity if OmniVest offered strategies into Asia and Europe and I support Wes that OV should consider adding other significant world markets, both for those of us who like to trade globally, and for people who just want to trade in their own patch…

Great idea.
One of the big ideas of OVest is to reduce risk and drawdown via diversification. Having separate country-based lists would be a fantastic way of doing this ... similar to having separate MG-Sector lists, or separate MG-Group lists.

I also wholeheartedly agree.
In addition to the matters already raised, for those of us outside the US there is a further risk we simply have to swallow - namely currency risk and commission on the exchange.
If the UK market were added to OV then a further enhancement I would appreciate would be to trade the CFD symbol with IB as well as the stock direct. That saves us Brits 1/2% of the trade value on each & every purchase we make. Yes, US friends, 1/2% additional cost on each stock purchase! (The UK government calls it 'Stamp Duty).
