I keep getting this error message when trying to open OT 2017:

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both OT and OmniScan/OmniData and the error persists.
Worse yet I get the same error in trying to open OT 2016!
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tom Helget

Registry cleaners typically cause this error 48 by removing entries in the registry that it thinks are unnecessary. Save this attachment to your machine, unzip the .reg file to your desktop and then double click on it. Say yes to the warning prompt about merging the file, & the problem should be solved.

Barry:
Thanks for your help!
I had truly given up on this as I tried everything I could think of to solve the problem without having to bother Support.
And, finally in desperation, I started this thread thinking that a long maybe unproductive session over the phone might follow.
But in one stroke you solved my problem!
I can't thank you enough!
And I really don't understand how my registry got violated as I run OT on two other machines (one almost the exact match but running an AMD chip instead of an Intel chip) with virtually all the same background software.
If you are going out this evening be sure to dress up as Mr. Wizard since you certainly have earned the appellation in my opinion and I hope you get all the confections your heart desires!

P.S. To any one else trying to obtain this link in the future it cannot be obtained on Firefox but downloads easily as Barry described on Microsoft Edge.

Algo, that isn't the same error. Please post your OT.log file from the OT2017 folder. Or you might try contacting our support team for a faster resolution.

It looks OmniData related. It's worth trying to reinstall it. With OT closed, uninstall OmniData (or OmniScan) from your installed programs list in your Control Panel. After it finishes, download & install OmniData from here:
