You can type in all ten letters. As soon as you do, it shows up in the Symbols focus list where you can see it in full. Screen space around the border is at a premium, if you want to display all the tools and you can’t always use full screen on the monitor. Some of the existing controls are too wide as it is. So, any requests to widen those tools will meet with some resistance by other users. There are many other entry fields in OT with similar “too thin” sizing - all the Param pane fields, for instance. The widest number visible there is 12345, or 12.34. But the widest possible actual input is -12345.67 In this case, there *is no other* display where you can see the whole entry. If any field in OT needs widening, it’s this one.

In that case may be one additional Symbol Button which is larger than the existing one. It will be very helpful for us without offending others. One can display whichever is suitable for them. Additionally as suggested in my original post, to save precious screen real estate the label "Symbol:" can be abbreviated to "Sym:" [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2021 10:12 AM]

Multiple Symbols on the same Chart Window: Plotting multiple symbols on the same chart window for comparison to see which one is showing more strength. Also whether the symbol is stronger or weaker than market index. It will also complement Rocket Trader Method. [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2021 10:14 AM]

IMHO The problem here is that buttons take a lot more screen space (which is finite) than a dropdown list and as you can imagine the more buttons you have the less space you have for the good stuff coming it OT22 YMMV Cheers Aztrix Originally written by 388891 on 10/7/2021 10:34 PM Originally written by Barry Cohen on 12/1/2020 8:30 PM We can't make that change to the Period Type toolbar. First because if there were buttons it'd make the toolbar much longer in length than it is & that's bad for different reasons. But second, OT doesn't have a limit of 7 timeframes like VisualTrader has, & I'm pretty sure nobody wants a timeframe limit imposed. What about an additional Period Type Toolbar similar to this one in addition to the existing one? It would be very convenient to switch between time periods in EOD Profiles. Hope it will be considered for inclusion in OT-2022.

Out of curiosity Barry, other than the segments and a few different ranking attributes, what's the difference to running PortSim with all the strategies enabled and comparing the individual results? Forgive my ignorance if this is a dumb question … Cheers Aztrix Originally written by 291234 on 11/8/2020 10:32 PM Gary, you pretty much described Hot Strategy Finder, which is located under the Mode menu. It allows you to compare your strategies to a list of symbols & test period. Though it's up to you to decide the symbol list & test period.

OT is only able to place one trade at a time for a given symbol. I'll give you a simple example. Say you run an analysis of 2 strategies, with one strategy giving a long signal & the other giving a short signal on the same bar. If you run them separately it's easy & you just take all the trades, but ran together there's a conflict, OT or Port Sim has to decide what to do in that & other situations.

Ahhhhh, ok thanks Barry. So are you saying that if you run the PortSim analysis on the individual strategies it won't help, the buy/sell has already been set in the "To Do" processing? Cheers Aztrix

I'm saying that OT's Strategy Voting as well as Port Sim/ATM have their own ways of dealing with those situations. I don't want to get into the details on each since there are different scenarios to consider depending on what certain settings are set to, but also this is a 2022 requests thread. :)

Ability to sort scans by alphabetical order is nice. It would be very useful if the last run date is also displayed for each scan because we don't run all scans everyday and this information will help us to decide if we need to run the scan again or can skip for the day.
