Hi Folks
I haven't used the "Run Analysis: As needed" for a while now because I was pretty confident that OT didn't know what I needed, suffice to say I've been using "Run Analysis: Forced on all symbols" for some time but I knew it wasn't working either, I just didn't have the time to prove it … until today.
Here are the parameters as specified, see attachment #5.0 To Do List, Date & Time

To Do List has 6 strategies running on 651 instruments, analysis completed in under 5 minutes … unlikely
See "Focus List" post analysis with no information populated, attachment #5.1 Post Analysis

I then paged down through the symbols to force analysis and magically "Focus List" post analysis information was being populated, attachment #5.2 Post Analysis Review

Is this a known error or bug?
Is there a workaround or fix?
Attached is the OT log to assist your problem diagnosis, please let me know if you require any additional diagnostics from me?
Cheers

I had some issues along this line myself. First, regarding "Forced on All Symbols". I got this resposne from Barry:
Forced for all symbols doesn’t do anything unless you’re using old optimized strategies. Otherwise there’s no reason to click it. It doesn’t hurt anything though.
Regards,
Barry Cohen
My issues is that with either "As Needed" or "Forced on All Symbols" some symbols updated and some didn't. What we found out was that if you were using lists from both "Customs Scans" and "My Symbol Lists" well...here's what Barry found:
I did reproduce it after adding a couple scans to the mix. I think the issue is when mixing my symbols lists with scans. From my initial test it seems analysis runs on the scans only (when mixed) & not the my symbols lists (unless a symbol from a scan also appears in a my symbols list).

Now, I have to uncheck the Custom Scans, run the To Do List, then recheck the Custom Scans and run the To Do List again. I also have added a "End" (End Date) column so that I can make sure that all symbols have been updated.

Thanks for letting me know David, if what you say is true and I have no doubt it is, it just goes to show what an exercise in insanity using OT has become, when flags apparently do nothing and for the most part, OT seems to be doing nothing either … while we hand over hard earned cash for this disservice!!! Crazy, crazy, crazy …
I'm not sure that's my problem tho, I use ASX user data without any OS Custom Lists or any other lists for that matter in this profile.
So very definitely a bug as is your case … the challenge now is to get Nirvana to accept that this is a bug and furthermore, prioritise fixing it.
Cheers

Thanks David. Yes forced for all symbols does have a purpose, but only for optimized strategies. It's a setting that isn't very useful nowadays since most use mechanical strategies. We probably should at least rename it.
David's issue is that analysis doesn't run for some symbols when using My Symbols & scans at the same time - that's reproduced & reported.
The analysis issue you posted about is not one I've seen. Can you try a new profile, add a few symbols to it from your user data folder, then run the ToDo List? If it doesn't work let me know. If it does work, please attach or email me the profile that doesn't work.

I just remembered, aren't you switching between US and ASX symbol databases & profiles? If so, perhaps it's related to that.

Yes that'd right Barry, switching back and forth between ASX UD and US OS
I will try it with both to see if I can identify the circumstances
Cheers
