In the following couple of posts I will put few requests which primarily consists of improvements in UI and should be easy to implement. Hope few of them make their way into OT-2021. [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2021 10:21 AM]

Period Type: Instead of the "Period Type" Drop-down it would be more efficient and time saver if it is replaced by Buttons as in VisualTrader. [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2020 9:48 AM] ![]()

Improved Search Many of us have Focus List which contains more than 1000 symbols. At present we have to keep on moving scrollbar up and down to find the symbols we are interested in. If instead we get a search bar similar to Windows where after we start typing the symbols start to gets filtered matching our typed criteria. It will dramatically reduce time and efforts required to search a particular symbol.

EZ View The Normal View and EZ View can have different columns with different sort order. While it is good to have this feature but it creates one problem. Suppose we are viewing one symbol in Normal View and then switch to EZ View to see the column data which is unique to EZ View only. Unfortunately we lose focus from that symbol and we have to scroll up down to find it. It would be very nice if the same symbol remains in focus when we switch views. Symbol Button At present the Symbol Button can accommodate only 6 letters. In our case many symbols have 10 or even more letters. It becomes very difficult for us to type the symbol. It would be very nice if this button is expended to accommodate at least 10 letters. To save space the label "Symbol:" can be shortened to "Sym:" The Money Zone Master View also has the same problem regarding Symbol Box and we want this to be expanded as well. The actual symbol here is "BHARATFORG" but it is truncated due to lack of space. [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2020 10:22 AM] ![]()

Market Snapshot One very important feature which is missing from OT is a Market Snapshot showing a compact view of important color coded Market Statistics like important Index Values, Market Trend, VIX, Advances/Declines etc at one place. It would be great if these can be customized. It can be implemented by way of a Separate popup window which can be shown by clicking a button (like Money Zone Master View). I am aware that OT has OmniView but that is not customizable and has very limited useful market related information and above all it is of very little use for International users. Options Trading - currently for options OT testing results and real trading results are not even close, with testing giving overly rosy results (very rosy). This has to be fixed asap or give us methods/settings to close this gap considerably

Hi, Vinay I appreciate your suggestions. However, could you *please* just list them all in one post, rather than separate posts? The multiple posts are *flooding* the inboxes of every user who is monitoring the forum. Thanks.

Sorry Jim, I was not aware of that as I have not subscribed to mail notification. I posted separately for greater focus on each of them. However in future I will keep in mind the problem faced by people like you who have subscribed to mail notifications.

Right Aligned Numbers At present all the columns in the Focus List are left aligned. While this is view is correct for the columns which contains text like "Symbol", "Name" etc but for the columns which contains numbers this is not the best way to display the data. A better approach is to display them right aligned. This is the normal practice everywhere. [Edited by Vinay on 10/13/2020 1:46 AM]

Plotting Signal & Exit Information The Trade Management tool enables us to add an entry signal anywhere on the chart and configure the exits. This is very useful feature particularly for discretionary trading. However at present there is no way to configure the color, width and type of plotted exit lines as a result many times it becomes very difficult to figure out which line displays which Stop specially when we have multiple Stops. This Tool should follow the defaults set for these lines in the Chart Options/Trades/Plot Properties for Stops. This small enhancement will make it very useful. How about a detachable strategy window from below the vote line. That would help maintain chart/indicator real estate while permitting the ability to see what strategies are firing (long lists). Similar to focus list detachment.

I have purchased a rather large collection of Nirvana packages. I suspect there are quite a few others in this forum who would say the same. It would be nice if there was an easy way to generate a comparison table that showed how each package owned by me was performing in the current market. I recognize this may not be particularly easy since some strategies and systems work best with a particular list of symbols and also may have have several other unique characteristics that are defined in profiles built specifically for them. But such a comparison table would be very useful for us when doing prospecting. While this may be too difficult to put in as a feature in OT, maybe Nirvana could generate such a comparison table for all Nirvana packages and make that available to customers on a periodic basis (daily if possible or weekly maybe). No back test or walking forward test, just how has each package done on the right edge over the last 6 to 3 months. I suspect all of us would very much like to see such a table.

Gary, you pretty much described Hot Strategy Finder, which is located under the Mode menu. It allows you to compare your strategies to a list of symbols & test period. Though it's up to you to decide the symbol list & test period.

This will be in PR2A. Thanks Barry. After going through the brochure for OT-2021, I decided to skip the upgrade because from my perspective there was nothing worth upgrading. But it appears that you will not let me skip :-) [Edited by Vinay on 12/1/2020 7:27 AM]

Please see if this request can also be included in OT2021. For RealTime Trading where we need fast action this small improvement can be very helpful. [Edited by Vinay on 12/1/2020 9:11 AM]

We can't make that change to the Period Type toolbar. First because if there were buttons it'd make the toolbar much longer in length than it is & that's bad for different reasons. But second, OT doesn't have a limit of 7 timeframes like VisualTrader has, & I'm pretty sure nobody wants a timeframe limit imposed.

What about an additional Period Type Toolbar similar to this one in addition to the existing one? It would be very convenient to switch between time periods in EOD Profiles. Hope it will be considered for inclusion in OT-2022. [Edited by Vinay on 10/8/2021 9:39 AM] ![]()
