I have found divergences of RSI-D, MAC-D, STO-D, CCI-D, CHA-D, WLR-D,
ROC-D very helpful for good prospects. Existing strategies seldom agree
them and locating them is a hit & miss proposition. I am told strategies can be created for the above but I am not very computer savvy and have no idea how to create them or get them into my strategy list of OT2006 even after reading the OT2006 manual. Would greatly appreciate anyone creating above strategies with detailed instructions how to enter them into my strategy list. Thankx - fwzeleske@hotmail.com

Frank,
Here's one of the Strategies you asked for. If this is what your looking for let me know and I'll make the rest. Understand that it's very basic and should be comfirmed before entry.

Save the attached file to ..\OT2006\Strategies. Once it is saved to this folder the strategy will show up in your strategies list under your To Do List.

Thanks for the input. I checked your screen shot & it is similar to the screens I have set up for various divergences - RSI etc. My problem is finding stocks with todays' divergence - not as displayed on your screen.
My computer knowledge is below that of an illiterate. I downloaded the RSI file & it wound up on my desktop. Can you give me step by step instructions to get it to \OT2006\Strategies? I have Windows XP Home.
Thanks for any help.

One video is worth 10,000 words & the RSI-D works fine.
Thanks. Can I get greedy and ask you to create strategies
for the rest of them as mentioned in my first posting?

Scrappy

I am a new user of omnitrader 2006 EOD stock edition. I mostly swing trade
US stocks based on divergences on MACD and it gives me great pleasure to see that we can actually scan stocks based on divergence which no other software I used can do. I am using your MAC_d divergence strategy, I use macd recrossing to enter the trade and mostly use either volume or nothing for confirmation. I have noticed in your strategy that entry triangle comes one bar late after recrossing and sometime it does not pickup divergences. Screenshot 1 shows actual trade triangle which occured on 12/20/05, screenshot 2 shows recrossing occured on 12/19/05, screenshot 2 is taken from tradestation who is my stockbroker and charting plateform, it shows dot on the 12/19/05 candle signifying crossing has occured. Screenshot 3 shows a missed divergence. Is it possible for you to through some light on it, and how this can be achieved. Your help is appreciated.

Blueice,
I might be wrong but but I think you might be thinking CROSSOVER which is not the same as Divergences. The Strategies are VERY Basic at best.I put them together to help Frank. If you would like a Crossover I'll post one for you.

PS. Welcome to OmniTrader

Thanks for answering. By crossover I meant first divegence takes place and than for buy divergence macd crosses its signal line to the upside and vice versa for shorts. As seen in screenshot #2 posted above, there is a big divergence in macd and price and than macd croses its signal line to the downside and this crossover is the signal to go short on 12/19/05. I am not looking for zero line crossovers. I know this is fairly basic strategy but I found sometime simplicity is the best setup. For further clarification I am posting a chart of nvda which shows divergence in price and than on 7/19/06 macd crosses its signal line to the upside and gives a buy signal.

I would appreciate if you could write this strategy. I am learning OT 2006, its incredible.

This strategy detects all the crossovers of macd regardless of if the divegence is present or not, is there a way to filter those crossovers with divergence. Thanks

Hello,
I'm back in Town now so I can now get everyones ideas.

1) What is the Goal?
A)Individual Signals
B)All Combined (divergence.ots)

2) Any Filters?

3) Comfirmation? (I'm using Score but Pro is needed)
A) Use only Default settings
B) Use Custom Settings

4) Exits For Testing?
A)Only Non Pro Exits
B)Pro Stops Ok

Theres so much to think about. I want ALL to give there opinions and suggestions. It's been awhile since the forum has produced a Strategy so lets get to it:-)

As for testing on a Symbol list. Lets start with the Nirvana RT50 if that ok with everyone else. Also lets create a common Template to Start with.If someone has one they feel is Tradeable post it if you would like to share.

The Goal is to help teach others how to better use and create within the Program.

PS For those veterans out there feel free to chime in.

I dont have real time version and I only do swing trading in stocks. My idea is to buy at the high of the candle where there is divergence and macd cross, and place a stop loss at the low of the last lowest low, remember this is a contrarian trade but precursor of a new trend as well, therefore it needs wide stops such as atr or parabolic sar, since there is no fixed profit target, you have to trail.

Right now I have some 200 stocks in my universe and I have to eyeball every chart everyday to see the setup, I am around 70-75 successful in picking the setup and follow it, sometime it changes into nice trend but some time it takes a while.

I firmly believe that all trends start from divergence, another observation is this type of setup is less successful in shorting.

Confitmation is by volume only if it is higher than previous day.
I am posting three screenshots to give an idea how this setup unveils.

Blueice,
Volume is easy to filter. The code as follows = V > V[1]

Will play with the Candle Code.

Hello Scrappy,

I am using your Divergence Strategies and I really like them. I do need help with something though. How do I get the Voting Signals to Fire as soon as the Divergence occurs. It seems that the Signals show up a bar or two later and the move is already in effect. I have tried to attach a screen shot.

Thanks so much for your advice,
