It.would.be cool if.the forum had sections where new.and experienced users.can go for.specific info instead of a pot.where everything.is all.mixed together. Example Newbies starting.out could use others trading.methods they have posted to start of.there experience. Forexfactory has trafinh strategy section where users can post and read strategies. Would.be great if.we had the same here. I woukd love to post my ideas for feedback where I can improve it.bybway of.feedback. Also for.others to try out cos.i would post my chart and.strategy. Like wise I can do the same.that others have posted. I for.one am.in search of ideas and methods.to use.to trade. As a select membership of nirvana family.here.cos.we.have therw.product it would.be.good.to.help.others. So.maybe Barry we can expand the forum to new threads like idividul plugins And Custom.made setups etc | ||

I too like this. But Barry kinda says it rhetorically.. "..If enough people want to do it..." It takes participation. It can be a trial thing. Just to see what people do. But they once had a "Trade Plans" thread if I recall and it wasn't much used.. So, perhaps a "Systems & Strategy" discussion thread maybe more suited to discuss anything & everything Trading AND not just Omnitrader!! As I think that's the point Jason is trying to make - to have a thread where we can just talk about Market activity, trading, our strategies and systems used. Granted, I don't know how open it would be to sharing. Jason, Also don't get your hopes up.. what you are asking for is very difficult to do. You want people to give feedback onto your strategies and systems and then have them help you make a tradeplan. this is nearly impossible to do by just looking at it. And you've been told this..So it is one of the most important elements of trading - if you do NOT get it, then you need to seriously reconsider your options on how you want to go about learning to trade. we can have 100 people come here, offer up some magnificent setups, systems or strategies.. some of them could be beautiful creations.. And I would be willing to bet that you would NOT use a single one of them long term.. Its just the nature of the game. markets change, and so do strategies and you always need to be one step ahead of everyone else.. you may indeed use it, but that would also take time and training to get a feel for how somebody elses strategies or setups may or may not work.. And this does not seem to be something you are used to doing.. To stay using one strategy for days or even weeks going thru the motions of using all that OT has to offer for testing from DO, to optimization to Strat Wizard, paper trading, adjusting each and ever Block in a strategy to all make it your own.. Finding which symbols to trade on, heck to even find which market or times to trade - its a daunting task where many people fail to do, INCLUDING MYSELF!! It's suggestive. If you post for example a Chart Template and ASK someone for some feedback - and if 10 people respond, you are going to get 10 different responses.. there's just no way to officially give you any sustatainable or proper feedback.. The person, whomever it maybe would have to download it and test it for themselves.. and then even so, whatever answer they give, its not really going to do you much good. They will just give you indicators or feedback on things they like and since everyone trades differently you may be dissappointed or worse, you will only get more frustrated.. Now in saying all that.. I do like the sounds of this.. Just a general area thread for discussion on anything everything trading from Forex to Stocks to Futures, etc.. Plus talking strategies, systems, symbols, etc.. Just do not be surprised if you dont see much participation!! It takes time out of peoples day. And, for what its worth .. all those other forums you are in, where you see much more acitivity .. If you find that's what you need, then it might be best to utilize them as a source of information. Granted, many of those too are just spam, people trying to sell or promote other products.. Nirvana forums, tho lack participation are going to be about as genuine as you get. But it might be something worth trying.. Can't hurt!! Barry, I'd definitely be interested in seeing if a thread like this can work.. Just an area for people to talk (Outside of Omnitrader and Visualtrader).. I understand we no longer have SWL which I did like.. but there was not enough participation.. Maybe something like this, wont be held to any time constraints as it doesn't matter if someone is logged in at the same time or not to chat, ya know?? | ||

i personal find that im not one for designing my own methods very well very much like strategies,,,you either use it out the packet or you build your own. im really more of use it right out of the packet with the instructions. as for the thread,, my idea is based mainly that i like to use other forums and read other peoples ideas and there methods on what they do to take trades being able to follow it and also download charts etc to install and to follow along and try these things out ok i know there are alot of time wasters out there who post nothing but spam. i guess thats the chance you take. i can read and look at pictures and try these system/methods out and they may not suit me but there maybe ideas i see that i could try and incorporate into my own ways. i also remember i think back in 2009 tom helget has a 7 or 8 page spread where he posted an omniscan for hurst. if i remember right members followed the thread and downloaded the moniscan and profile etc to use with the hhurst plugin and found that they were picking up the same symbols as possible candidates to trade as tom was. basically tom came up with something and other members followed his lead and tried out his method. be it suitable for them or not who knows but my basic concept of the new thread is the same. if someone can post the charts strategies etc etc and others download and follow the system/method then great for some it maybe a good thing for them to want to use or just parts of it.so they have a trading method they can use thanks to joe bloggs posting also maybe experienced users maybe able to advise where they maybe going wrong or if a different indicator may suit them better etc so basically giving advice to help on that one system/setup. also reading marc what you write i think you expand a little on what my original thinking was but i do fully embrace your thinking. i think barry if he was to do this with others support then i feel it would need organised threads rather then generalised titles where many topics are discussed for example if i was to buy say hurst and i wanna try out ideas i would go to the trade system/setup thread and look for the posting heading of hurst,which i know i can read thru which solely relates to only hurst and the plugin. again maybe i may find julesrulesny setup as a thread and i enter it to only read what marc has posted about his method and if i like the pictures or what he has to say i can download the chart and duplicate his setup and try it out . there maybe as i say one idea in marcs method that may suit me or that i may make a suggestion which may help him to improve his approach. for the newbies this could be invaluable help. i for one would very much welcome this and for me would help alot. but this would need the generosity of others to make it work i personally would post mine on the forum and would welcome any comments to improve what i have. i do very much like what marc had to write tho,,,expanding on my original suggestion was great thinking. maybe if barry was to do this maybe taking the whole ideas then we could have a dedicated section as to like maybe a library with specific titles to find what you want. it begs the question tho,,that to a point , is this forum a little generalised rather then specific in titles. could this forum be in need of an overhaul??? either way i must say it is barry who will have the work to do,,so i respect what barry says a great deal. as for not keeping my hopes up marc well i always keep my fingers crossed for the greater good for all after all we help each other out in the quest to achieved mega money i hope you all share my vision and can embrace it and maybe shape a new thread or a new forum that could be a little more organised in topics. sorry marc if i wrote a long thread mate lol i forgot this is you area of expertise not mine again sorry all lol jason |
